Oriental

Working here has been maddening so far.
Not maddening as in get mad, but in the sense that I'm so busy I can't sit still.

Our hotel is almost 80% completed, remaining parts of the courtyard & driveway have yet to finish renovating but our occupancy rate is around 80%. Rather amazing, considering the noise level and everything, but I still believe people chose us because of the nice decor and luxurious feel. (:

Settling down nicely at work, handling mainly the wedding/solemnization clients and slowly training up on Dinner&dance, seminars etc.

Honey bunny's doing well too! She gets hyper at night and keeps eating non-stop. Super adorable!! & when I cupp her in my hand, she falls asleep almost immediately.
Cartoon's of course jealous at the new addition, but I'll try to make sure he doesn't feel left out. :))

Updated: one stupid client just demanded to see the function rooms at the last min. ARGH!!!!!!!

Need a new hairstyle

Back at work on a Saturday. Sighs.

I'm not sure if it's because of my previous job which made it habitual for me to leave on the dot at 6.00pm everyday from Monday to Friday.
Of course I understand that Catering Sales is different. From Monday till today, I've stayed back in the office for 3 out of 5 days, and today's the ONE additional day. So, I should have 3 off days next week. HOPEFULLY.

Basically I'm selling banquet rooms, or rather, Ballrooms. Couples will come to our hotel and I will be giving them a tour of our amenities as well as wedding packages etc.
I've put in heart & soul since the first day, & I really don't appreciate that he said I gave him the feeling that I'm 'bo chup'.

Seriously, dude. No wonder you're single.

Anyway, I'm decked in suits the entire day, meeting clients, couples etc. Need a new wardrobe that has more office tops to match my suits! Speaking of that, I would like to venture out for a new hairstyle too. I like her new hair from Salon Vim's, but the only thing is that it must have cost a bomb.

So exhausted and angsty today. Need a drink man.

The Perfect Wedding.

First of all, the engagement ring.
As sang by Marilyn Monroe, 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend'. Yes indeed.
The engagement ring is THE ring which you will find girls flaunting to their friends and relatives.
There is an unspoken rule that the engagement ring should cost about 2-3 times the groom's monthly salary. & of course, prices of the rings depend on the 4Cs: Cut, clarity, colour and carat.
Personally, not to be overly-ambitious, I would say I hope my ring would be between 0.5 carat to 1.

Am quite a fan of the Princess cut.

But you do realise that the engagement ring and way of proposal is entirely up to the groom-to-be to plan. (:

Next up, venue of the solemnization and wedding dinner.
I'm quite an old soul at heart, and I like places with rich history. If I could, I will have my solemnization at Victoria's Concert Hall. Very British-looking building and it's a concert hall, so that perfectly suits my style.

But I realised there's a problem with this, because it clashes with the traditional Chinese way of groom picking up his bride at her place etc. Big question mark here...
Still have lots to learn about how weddings run. (:

As for the wedding dinner venue, I really like Fullerton Hotel. Besides a very regal exterior, the interior ballroom is also breathtakingly beautiful, especially with the staircase.

I've read the blog of LoveBonito's Rachel, and she had her wedding here and I think it's spectacular! Love love love this place!

Then, my dream wedding car to transport us around for the entire day.

A Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet in Beige. (:
Who knows, in the new future I might even be driving this car!

Then, the wedding dress styles that I like.

I'm really fond of unique backless designs, lace mostly.

Followed by long trains, about 1-2 metres would be the ideal one. Elegant enough but not too dramatic.

Liking jewelled bustiers too, as they emphasize more on the bosoms. The only thing about such gowns is that somehow they make you look older.

Another one of my favourites, a simple sweet gown like you see in 'Bride Wars', a creation like Vera Wang's.

The wedding gown is a very important part of the wedding, so do not rush your selection. Take your time, go around each bridal shop and try on as many gowns as you can. (:

Next up, another of my favourites: flower bouquets.

Red roses are wonderful, because they stand for passion and deep love. I believe in passion for everything we do, so roses would be my top choice.

For my walk-in march into the ballroom, my groom and I will sing to 'From this Moment on' by Shania Twain and Bryan White.

Other songs:
"Tonight I celebrate my love" by Peabo Bryson & Roberta Flack
"Close" by Westlife
"My Valentine" by Martina McBride
"Till the End" by some guy called Chen Da Wei
"When a Man loves a woman" by Michael Bolton
"When a Woman loves a man" by Westlife
"When you tell me that you love me"

"Wonderful tonight" will be played when we have our first dance.

For my wedding, I'd employ a band. Those who play instruments like Flute, Piano and a bass like Euphonium. I'll play 2 songs for my future hubby: one using the piano and the other on my flute.
I'll ask get my close friends who sing well to take the stage and dedicate songs to us. :D

& there you have it! My perfect wedding!

National Day? No, Daddy's day.

2 days ago, when everyone was busy hyping about National Day, we decided to have an advance birthday celebration for my dad.

Had dinner at Quan Xiang Yuan Seafood Restaurant, one of the restaurants we've dined at since young. Since we were babies, in fact. :)) It's located along Jalan Besar. Food's really good & price is considerably cheap. We ordered a total of 8 or 9 dishes for only $144.00!

Our first ring: the Confirmation ring.

Dad was understandably jolly that night.
We were saying, all that's lacking now is Mavis' boyfriend. :x Then my parents would have 3 daughters, 3 sons-in-laws.

After dinner, we went for our couple time, & that was when I had my first foot massage! :/ I've never liked people touching my feet cos I'm really ticklish, and I feel that my feet is kinda private? But nonetheless, got psychoed by him and we went.
I could not stop laughing when the guy first massage my feet. Super paiseh, and the patrons were all laughing at me. -.- But after a while, it does get quite comfy. (:

The day could have ended even better if that nasty bitch of an elder sister did not always try to annoy me.
I had asked her to help me & Nash take a photo, & she said 'Eee, you look horrible'. I'm like "why? Something on my face?"... She said I just look ugly & horrible.
SERIOUSLY WTF??!

Guilt-trippin

Am feeling so guilty after splashing out on this Celine bag.
Had expected to only get it after I'm back from HongKong, but my boyf noticed I was feeling a tad down when I realised it's out of my budget. So guess what??

HE BOUGHT IT FOR ME......FIRST! Do let me emphasize the FIRST.

He went to the Celine store just nearby where he works, and through some good faith, the salesperson actually brought him to the storeroom to look at the new arrivals!
This Celine bag is not displayed in Takashimaya, because apparently there's a long waiting list for it. *beams* See? I chose a great bag! :))

There was Black, this yellow (Citrine, they call it) and red which was more off towards a maroon.
Black was a tad too harsh for me, considering I'll be wearing suits for my job, so I had to go for colour. I would have loved red if it was a brighter shade, instead of the maroon, which was made dull by the grainy texture.

Thus, the contender was Citrine! :D

Really happy with it, but the only thing was that I'm still taking public transport. Kinda weird you see, so I'm hoping we might get a car soon. But fingers crossed, that the economy doesn't go that bad.

AND ANOTHER THING THAT HAPPENED OVER THE WEEKEND (dare I say it?).
Oh gosh. We bought a wedding band. *gasps*

Not THE wedding band, but it's considered the first ring, the 'confirmation' ring.
He said he will get me three rings: first will be the 'Confirmation ring', followed by the engagement ring then the actual wedding band.

I must admit I really had the jitters when we walked into Citigems to look at rings. I'm not someone who looks at jewellery, and the idea to buy?! WHOA, that was nerve-wrecking.
Nonetheless, we screened through the rings and found one set of wedding band that we both liked. & there you go, we bought it! :x

I don't have it yet because they're making one of my size for me, so we'll be collecting it either tomorrow or Wed. Kind of looking forward to wearing it actually. (:
