Off to Taiwan in a bit!

Okay! So it's past my self-declared bedtime of 9pm (fyi, as I'm typing this it's already 10.30), but i just thought I should perhaps do a short update.

I'M FINALLY FLYING OFF TOMORROW MORNING TO TAIPEI!
Super excited to be travelling after a short hiatus (Msia roadtrips & ferries don't really count unless it's by plane). The last time I was on the plane was more than a year ago, coming back from London!
If I remember correctly, my ears were kind of sensitive & became blocked as we were about to land. Scared the hell out of me, as I thought I was going deaf.

But anyway, so I'm leaving the morning flight from Terminal 1, & I'd be back on Friday midnight! (:

I also have 'Pay-as-you-roam', so you can text me if it's urgent. (:

Goodnight peeps! & tmrw, it's gonna be Bonjour Taipei, Au revoir Singapore!

Annoying Orange!

Our beloved Keefeeeee enlisted into Tekong today!

All thanks to him, I was introduced to work at HUGO. That, began my happy days & also the invaluable friendships that was made within such a short span.

I must admit to being depressed ever since the fiasco about my dream, the hospital visits etc. Being in HUGO, though I still got questioned then, but at least Keefee was there to share the brunt with me & to make me laugh whenever I'm down.

He takes good care of us all when we go drinking.
Sends us home when we're drunk.
Initiates lots of outings & roadtrips.

He's really the best Annoying Orange around! <3

Underappreciated

Today was a bad day.

When I woke up, I was still smiling about what a good dream I had. Apparently, I (or someone) got married & we were invited to this themepark/hotel and were treated as VVIPs.

I woke up, fumbled for my phone & wanted to tweet about the nice dream. THEN MY DAD KNOCKED MY DOOR. He kind of scolded & nagged at me for returning home late (which I can understand), but one thing I can't stand is being underappreciated.
I've always been the one amongst my siblings to support my dad, because I believe its only fair that the 3 of us support evenly. So while my 2 sisters always side my mom, I tend to side my dad. This is perhaps strengthened when he agreed & funded my exchange trip to beautiful France.
But at the end of the day, after doing all you can for a person, if he doesn't appreciate & instead step all over you, I think it's time to put a stop to that nonsense.

.
Oh, & I'm gonna miss Keefeeee, who's enlisting on Thursday! :(

My Past Week & more!

*I'll upload photos at a later time because it takes a longlonglong time!*

11 Aug Wed: Daddy's birthday dinner at Din Tai Fung & roadtrip into Msia with Keefe & Erina! Baskin robbins, durian, car wash, kenny rogers= been there, done that!

(I give up. Please view my facebook once I've uploaded the photos. Blogger's being a bitch.)

12 Aug Thurs: Chillax at home.

13 Aug Fri: Collect car & went to secondary school 4C's BBQ at Ivy's place! Went home to shower after sending John & Darren, & went to pick up the gang at Plaza Sing! Made our way to Kallang Leisure Park for bowling! (girl power applies in basketball, singing, but *ahem* bowling isn't her forte.) Still mine, though! (:

14 Aug Sat: Drove into Msia for the first time (for me) & went to CARREFOUR (which resembles Singapore's Giant & can never hold a candle to France's), JUSCO & car wash. After arriving back in Singapore, we drove to Henderson Wave for some chillax till 3am before having oyster omelette for supper!

15 Aug Sun: Picked up Nrl & met the rest of the clique at Cinneleisure! Had some coffee whilst chilling before making a random decision to go ECP for a picnic! :D I love how spontaneous we can be when we're together. Bought Macs & snacks, & chilled till 9 plus before driving to the airport. SADLY, alot of photos just suddenly disappeared from my camera! ARGHHHHH.

16 Aug Mon: Supposed to return the car, but I lost my way.....*snorts*. TOTALLY NO SENSE OF DIRECTION TO SAVE MY LIFE. Anyw, they found some scratches on the tyre rims, so I had to do something about it. Called Gilbert & he accompanied me to his mechanic. I had the car for one more day, so drove to pick the gang & we went to ECP AGAIN. Chillax & sent everyone home. (:

17 Aug Tue: Brought the car to the mechanic & it was fixed in a jiffy! They didn't even charged me, how nice! (: Returned the car & G drove us to get black carrot cake, which is unbelievably difficult at that point of time.

18 Aug Wed: Can't remember what I did.

19 Aug Thurs: Went to town to find Erina at Orange for dinner! We wanted to have TCC scones, but it wasn't available! :( had tirumisu & she had cheesecake.

20 Aug Fri: Keefe came to pick me before meeting the rest at Crystabelle for our Karaoke session. (: my singing wasn't up to par. *sighs* Felt unwell the whole day.

21 Aug Sat (today!): Chillax at home but went out to buy lunch & order Macs for dinner! Did some menial chores too, which went unappreciated & I'm really kinda pissed by it. -.-*

& guess what?!
I DOWNLOADED THE FULL VERSION OF 'ANGRY BIRDS'!
Super excited to play them all! HAHAHAH!

Brutal killing

A dead body of a dog, with its face drenched in blood, was found in the void deck of Blk 267B Compassvale Link in Sengkang on Wednesday evening.

The Straits Times reports that the dog, a Pomeranian, died after being beaten and repeatedly flung against the floor.

A police spokesman confirmed the incident, saying that the police received a call around 7.40pm. About six policemen arrived soon after.

Mr Toh, a 50-year-old hawker who works at a coffeeshop next to the void deck, said he witnessed the brutal beating and called the police.

He told The New Paper in Mandarin, “The man was picking up the dog and throwing him onto the floor over and over again – for at least 10 times. It happened over 10 minutes.”

“At first the dog cried out in pain. It was a pitiful sound, then after a while there was silence,” he added.

Mr Toh said he was afraid to step in after the man “looked crazy”.

“I wanted to stop the man, but he really seemed like he was crazy. So I rang the police instead because I hoped they would arrive in time to stop him – and save the dog,” he said.

But it was too little too late as the dog died. The Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) picked up the dead dog after being notified by the police. Initial examinations revealed the dog died from intensive head injuries consistent with trauma.

Another witness, Mr Leow, 34, a hawker who worked in the same coffeeshop as Mr Toh, told the same paper that the dog abuser acted strangely prior to the tragedy.

He claimed that the man who appeared to be in his 30s or 40s, requested for a knife to which Mr Leow said “no”.

The case has been referred to the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) and investigations into the identity of the owner are ongoing.

SPCA executive officer, Ms Deidre Moss said, “It is a tragedy of the highest order, it was a brutal end to a lovely dog.”

Seriously, i feel like saying every bad word in the Hokkien dialect & scream my head off at the bloody son of a bi*** that did this!!
But whats the point? The poor dog is gone.:'(

This is where i really pray for karma to bite him hard in the ass.

A short one!

A mad, mad busy past week, & its gonna be a mad, mad week when I'm starting to travel.

Sponsored Batam trip this weekend (super random & spontaneous) and Taiwan in less than 2 weeks!

Not to mention, affairs of the heart always keeps someone busy.

I guess I'll blog tmrw to update on my short-trips driving into Malaysia, chalet & Universal Studios, bbq, bimbo roadtrips etc. (:

Je ne sais pas comment procéder avec vous.

13th

I'll be using the car in approx 13hours' time.

On Friday the 13th.

HOLY SHIT & FML.

From what I know, I'll be picking Buddy, lunch, followed by perhaps Nicholas (Kovan), then to pick Keagan (Pasir Ris) and to the BBQ.
Leaving by 9, & I think heading to Orchard to pick up Keefe & gang before MAYBE another road trip to Msia to pump petrol.

Then Saturday I have no idea where we're going.

Sunday with poly darlings Bao, Lulu, Pooms, Lala & maybe Nette to perhaps Asian Civilisation Museum and a late picnic.

Monday I'll be sending my younger sis to school before getting breakfast for the family.

The best thing is: I'm a road-idiot.

August 8, 2010

Off to Uni!

I'm heading out of the house in a bit!
Meeting Erina @ Boss Orange then we're going for Ichiban boshi at Plaza Sing!

I drank quite a bit last night, & was on the verge of puking my guts out. Fortunately, I think a cup of iced water saved my tummy.
If you must know, I disappeared from the world yesterday. I turned off my phone, & I was aware that some people were worried about my whereabouts.

I'm so sorry for making you guys worry.

I'll be fine. I've thought things out.
If it's meant to be, it'll be.

I shouldnt waste my youth wallowing deep in self-pity or near-depression.

Therefore, I'm going to University.

10 Places To Go In Taipei (based on me)

In no order of preference (because I intend to chiong all!), here are my researched top 10 selections:

#1: 五分埔, Wu Fen Pu

Need I say more?! Shopping haven, please!
I'm controlling my purse strings now (online blogshops tempts me much *sighs*) just for wufenpu! I'm also intending to pack a smaller luggage inside my big check-in Hush puppy one.

#2: Taipei 101

Gorgeous views from the top of that building. Hopefully there might be some fireworks too! *crosses fingers*

#3: Hot Springs in Beitou

I've been wanting to visit a spa/hot spring overseas (besides Batam -.-), & now I have a perfect chance! Can't wait to dip myself in!

#4: 六福村 Leofoo Village Theme Park

It's a theme park! (: I haven't been to many theme parks (Disneyland HK, Disneyland Paris, Genting highlands & Universal Studios Singapore on Tuesday!), so I hope to add to the experience!

#5: Taipei Zoo

China sent 2 pandas Tuan tuan & Yuan Yuan there in 2008 as some sort of a peace-thingy. I want to see them! :D & show them my Kungfu panda eyes too. Hahaha.

#6: 士林夜市, Shilin Night Market

I'm a food-fanatic! I REALLY DON'T NEED TO SAY MORE! *drools* heeheeee.

#7: Miramar Entertainment Complex

It has this really pretty & huge ferris wheel! Furthermore, it combines shopping too! (: I remember Fahrenheit's "孤单摩天轮" MV was shot there, & I love that song!

#8: National Taiwan University

No specific reason, I just want to feel clever. HAHAHAH! Or would I get mistaken as a student there. :x

#9: 西门町, Ximending

It means to the Taiwanese like how "Orchard Road" is to us Singaporeans! But I heard that shopping is quite expensive though, so I'm not pinnin my shopping-maniac-ness there.

#10: National Palace Museum

I'm sure we can learn alot about history there. (:

There you have it! This post sums up my plans for Taipei!
I'm superrrrrrrr excited!
I'm flying off on 30Aug in the middle of the night and coming back on 3Sept midnight!

Are you excited yet, Jo & KL?!

Be Grateful

I've finally had a good rest today!
As all my readers would have known, yesterday was my last day at HUGO! I've been working there part-time since 6 June, & so it was in a span of about 2 months?
I'm really grateful for a chance to be exposed to the retail industry, which I havent experienced beforehand. Previously, I have no lack of experience in many other industries:
- F&B (waitressing & even a cook for Takoyaki for my family business)
- Admin (data entry)
- Receptionist
- Promoter (Seagate hardisk & Brother printer)
- Conference coordinator

So I guess now I can add Retail to my list of resume as well. Haha!

Okay, back to my point. We went out to Crystabelle KTV last night again to celebrate! It's located near Outram MRT, & it's kinda cheap! Normally we sing for 3 hours and you can order either a beer/juice & it only totals up to $13! :D I've been there 4 times, and it still ranks well as my favourite.

The only bane would probably be the emo-ness that sneaks in to find us all. Soon, some songs strike a vulnerable chord & I'll find my mind drifting off to where it shouldn't.

I remembered earlier in the evening, darling Espall & Shamine came to the store to find me. We chatted a bit, & eventually (expected) came to the topic of what I intend to do from now on. & guess what?

My mind drew up a blank.

Sighs, emo-ness activated at that moment & it lingered on till end of the day.

Anyw, a highlight for last night would be me taking over the driving near Serangoon! Keefe had allowed Watson to drive his manual Nissan Sunny from Marine Parade to Serangoon, & he just randomly asked me to drive.
I must say, I was panicking & my feet trembled. Though I have a qualified license for Class 3, but driving a manual car is too much of a hassle. Fortunately though, the engine & clutch did not die on me. (: I still have what it takes.
They even commented that my driving is actually smooth, when I change gears & all. (: happy happy! I can't wait to drive from 13-16aug!
I have plenty of outings for that weekend, & I'm super excited. I even activated the GPS lor, haha! (;

13 Aug- BBQ with sec sch mates (I'm bringing a date!)
14 Aug- Outing with HUGO colleagues Keefe, Erina, Watson & Joyce
15 Aug- Outing with poly loves: Pooms, lulu & darling has confirmed!
16 Aug- Bring Toonie out & prolly my family.

So as you can see, my August is filled with excitement!
It's great because it takes my mind off things.
I shall deal with the repercussions later. :D
